How to Connect and Use Dwyer TS2, TS2-K, and TS-PROBES Temperature Control System-1
Posted on: 24/05/2025
Instructions for Connecting and Using Dwyer TS2, TS2-K, and TS-PROBES
-
System Overview
The complete temperature control system from Dwyer includes:

-
TS2-K Configuration Key
-
TS-PROBES Temperature Probe
When combined, this system allows:
-
Accurate temperature measurement using PTC/NTC probes.
-
Display, monitoring, and adjustment of temperature parameters on the TS2.
-
Quick configuration cloning across multiple TS2 units using the TS2-K, eliminating the need to configure each device individually.
2. Hardware Connection
a. Connecting the TS-PROBES to the TS2

TS-21 Probe
The probe has 2 wires and connects to the SENSOR INPUT port on the TS2 (terminals 2 and 3).

b. Powering the TS2
-
Provide the correct power supply based on the model: 115VAC / 230VAC or 12-24V AC/DC.
-
Connect to terminals 5 and 6 following the wiring diagram.
c. Connecting the TS2-K for Configuration
-
Open the key’s casing and switch both DIP switches to ON-KE position.
-
Close the casing.
-
Connect the key to the controller’s connection port.
-
Press and hold the button on the key.
-
When the LED on the key turns green, the parameters have been successfully copied from the controller to the key.
If you DO NOT see a green light, the following errors may occur:
-
🔋 Blinking green LED → Low battery, replace the key’s battery.
-
🔴 Blinking red LED → Communication error, check if the key is properly connected to the controller.

Tip: If you have multiple TS2 devices with the same configuration, you only need to configure one, save it to the TS2-K, and then copy it to the others – this saves a lot of time.
3. Configuring Parameters on the TS2
Function Keys
-
SET: Confirm, enter menu, save value
-
▲ (Up): Increase value / scroll up
-
▼ (Down): Decrease value / scroll down
How to Access and Edit Parameters
-
Press and hold SET for 8 seconds → access the programming menu
-
Use ▲▼ to select the parameter code (e.g., r0, d1, A1)
-
Press SET to enter edit mode → use ▲▼ to change the value
-
Press SET to save → press SET + ▼ simultaneously to exit quickly

4. Notes
-
Periodically check the probe – avoid oil, water, or chemical contamination.
-
Do not remove the TS2-K while configuring.
-
Keep the device in a dry, well-ventilated place.
Conclusion
Combining the TS2 controller, TS-PROBES, and TS2-K key allows you to build a precise, easily cloned, and low-maintenance temperature monitoring system. Seamless connectivity among Dwyer devices ensures efficient operation and saves setup time for multiple systems.
