Dwyer TS3, TS2-K & TS-PROBES Setup Guide – Accurate Connection & Configuration

How to Connect and Use Dwyer TS3, TS2-K, and TS-PROBES Temperature Control System

Posted on: 24/05/2025

Instructions for Connecting and Using Dwyer TS3, TS2-K, and TS-PROBES

1. System Overview

The complete temperature control system from Dwyer includes:

  • TS2-K Configuration Key
  • TS-PROBES Temperature Sensor

When combined, this system allows:

  • Accurate temperature measurement using PTC/NTC probes.
  • Displaying, monitoring, and adjusting temperature parameters on the TS3.
  • Fast configuration cloning across multiple TS3 units using the TS2-K without needing to configure each unit individually.

2. Hardware Connection

a. Connecting TS-PROBES to TS3

TS-21 Probe

The probe has 2 wires and connects to the SENSOR INPUT port of the TS3 (terminals 2 and 3).

b. Powering the TS3

  • Provide a suitable power source according to the model: 115VAC / 230VAC or 12–24V AC/DC.
  • Connect to terminals 5 and 6 following the wiring diagram.

c. Connecting the TS2-K for Configuration

  • Open the key’s cover and slide both DIP switches to the ON-KE position
  • Close the cover
  • Connect the key to the connection port on the controller
  • Press and hold the button on the key

When the LED on the key turns green, the parameters have been successfully copied from the controller to the key

If you DO NOT see a green light, possible errors include:

  • 🔋 Blinking green LED → Low battery, replace the key’s battery
  • 🔴 Blinking red LED → Communication error, check if the key is properly connected to the controller

Tip: If multiple TS3 units share the same configuration, you only need to configure one, save it to the TS2-K, then copy it to the others – saving a lot of time.

3. Configuring Parameters on the TS3

Function Buttons

  • SET: Confirm, enter menu, save value
  • ▲ (Up): Increase value / scroll up
  • ▼ (Down): Decrease value / scroll down

How to Access and Adjust Parameters

  • Press and hold SET for 8 seconds → enter programming menu
  • Use ▲▼ to select the parameter code (e.g.: r0, d1, A1)
  • Press SET to enter edit mode → use ▲▼ to change the value
  • Press SET to save → press SET + ▼ simultaneously to exit quickly

4. Notes

  • Regularly inspect the probe – avoid oil, water, or chemical contamination.
  • Do not remove the TS2-K during configuration.
  • Keep the device in a dry, well-ventilated place.

Conclusion

Combining the TS3 controller, TS-PROBES, and TS2-K key enables you to build an accurate, flexible, and easily cloned temperature monitoring system. Seamless connectivity between Dwyer devices ensures efficient operation and saves setup time for multiple systems.
